Sophie Brady, 26, a woman from Athboy, Co Meath, was sexually abused by her cousins David Hamilton, 33, and Jonathan Hamilton, 34, both men from Athboy, on dates between 2004 and 2008. The abuse began when Sophie was seven after the cousins moved into her home, and she told an adult when she was nine or ten. She made a complaint to the gardaí in 2021, at which point it emerged her older sister had also been abused. Both men pleaded guilty at the Central Criminal Court in Dublin, and David was sentenced to seven and a half years while Jonathan received three years.
