Revenue officers seized 59kg of cannabis with an estimated street value of €1.18 million during a joint operation with the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau in Kilkenny on 7 October 2021, targeting an organised crime group. Two men were arrested: a man in his 20s at the scene and a man in his 40s after a vehicle was intercepted, both detained at Kilkenny Garda Station. The man in his 20s was released without charge on 8 October 2021 with a file to be prepared for the DPP. Slavimir Bubuscak, a 43-year-old man of Kilkenny, was charged with two offences under the Misuse of Drugs Act and remanded on bail at a special sitting of Gorey District Court on 9 October 2021 to appear at Kilkenny District Court on 16 November for DPP directions.
