latest first- Case of Letterkenny woman who defrauded State adjourned pending inheritance Fraud against the State · Co. Donegal
Shauna Tynan, 56, of Letterkenny, County Donegal, is the subject of a fraud case over State payments. She claimed her late father's State pension and carer's allowance for about three years after his death in October 2013, and the sources put the total at almost €70,000. In January 2024 Letterkenny Circuit Court adjourned the case to the April sessions after hearing that her uncle had died and that his estate would take time to pass to her. In April 2024 Judge John Aylmer adjourned it again, with no money yet paid to the State and Tynan repaying €25.13 weekly, and the latest development is an adjournment to 29 October 2024.
