On March 3, 2023, at the Long Walk in Dundalk, Shanice Mulready, a woman aged 32, approached a partially deaf man, claiming to be a nurse, and took his hearing aid and wallet. She later pleaded guilty to robbery. Judge Dara Hayes sentenced her at Dundalk Circuit Court, and a report published on January 25, 2024 gave the sentence as 21 months in prison, backdated to July 8th. A second version of the sentence gives three and a half years, with the final 21 months suspended.
