Shane Ruane, 34, of Moyvilla, Oranmore, was charged with possession of cocaine worth €13,000 or more with intent to sell or supply under Section 15A of the Misuse of Drugs Act 1977, and with possession with intent to sell or supply cocaine and cannabis under Section 15. He appeared before Judge Mary Fahy at Galway District Court in October 2021, where Garda Sheena Gill served the Book of Evidence. The DPP consented for the case to proceed to Galway Circuit Court, and Judge Fahy ordered it returned for trial with an alibi warning. Free legal aid was granted, including certification for senior counsel.
