latest first- Accidental death verdict in Dublin scrambler crash Death (road traffic incident) · Co. Dublin
Shane Murphy, a 17-year-old man from Ballymun, Dublin, died on 23 August 2020 when the scrambler bike he was riding collided with a Dublin Bus at the junction of the R108 and R112 at St Margaret's, Finglas. The inquest heard he had only borrowed the scrambler that day and had been on public roads with a motorbike just three times. The Dublin Bus driver, Paul Shaughnessy, had called his controller three minutes before the collision to alert gardaí about motorcyclists driving erratically. A jury of six men at Dublin District Coroner's Court returned a verdict of accidental death on 23 January 2022.
