latest first- Man convicted of public order offence in Letterkenny Public order · Co. Donegal
On 11 February 2021, three men were observed at a multi-storey car park at Scally Place, Letterkenny, and fled on foot when Gardaí's presence was announced. Sewerwyn Knobel, a 21-year-old man from Cashel Park, Lisnennan, Letterkenny, ran across three lanes of oncoming traffic on Pearse Road at 5.50pm. He was arrested for a public order offence and a fixed charge penalty notice was issued but not paid. At Letterkenny District Court, Judge Patricia Cronin convicted Knobel and applied the Probation Act, with his solicitor Michael Shiel submitting that Knobel had no social welfare, had been refused social welfare, and had lost his job at a meat plant in Carrigans.
