    Pawel Szewczyk, a man from Rush, Co Dublin, claimed he was thrown backwards out of a Dublin Bus by driver Sergiu Rui in a fare dispute over 50 cent. He alleged injuries to his right arm, wrist, elbow, shoulder and neck. The driver said Szewczyk became unsteady and fell out of the door, and that he smelled of alcohol. In June 2022, Judge O'Donohue at the Circuit Civil Court dismissed Szewczyk's €60,000 personal injuries claim against Dublin Bus and awarded costs against him.
