  Revenue officers seized suspected cocaine weighing 55.3kg, valued at €3,747,000, at Rosslare Europort, Co Wexford, on Monday 22 December 2025, after searching a vehicle that had disembarked from a ferry from France. A man in his 40s was arrested under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 and detained at a Garda station in Co Wexford. On 29 December 2025 Semion Stegar, 41, a Moroccan man, appeared before Waterford District Court by video link on two charges under Section 3 and Section 15 of the Misuse of Drugs Act. The prosecution sought an adjournment to await Director of Public Prosecutions directions, and the accused consented to a further remand in custody, with the case adjourned to Wexford District Court on 12 January.
