On August 6th, 2023, Sebastian Switaj (42) of Rathowen, Fermoy, Co. Cork, who is originally from Poland, went to the Amigos takeaway in Fermoy with two improvised petrol bombs after he was unhappy with his food order. He placed the two glass containers on the counter during a dispute with staff, who threw them outside. Fermoy District Court heard on April 20th, 2024 that he faces a charge of intimidation and has five previous convictions. The judge adjourned the case to June 28th for a probation report and warned that he would be sent to prison if he came to the attention of gardaí in the meantime.
