Sebastian Nowicki, 44, a Polish man from Saggart, Co. Dublin, sent over 270 text messages to a Polish woman between December 2014 and January 2015 using explicit language and graphic racial terms towards her partner, and threatened to kill her at Drogheda Garda Station on July 9, 2021. The victim, who had moved in with Nowicki and his family in November 2013, reported the harassment to gardaí in 2016. Nowicki pleaded guilty to both charges at Dundalk Circuit Court, where a bench warrant had been issued while he was before the court. In January 2023, Judge Patrick Quinn sentenced him to three years in jail, with a 10-year communication ban from the complainant and her family.
