Sean Paul Friel, a man from Kerrykeel, County Donegal, was convicted of trespassing on a neighbour's property after a disturbance on 21 July 2022, when gardaí were called at around 10pm. The complainant, a man, alleged that someone was trespassing on his property and shouting abuse, and made a statement of complaint. Friel's solicitor said the incident should not have happened and that Friel fully accepts that, and Friel admitted he had called down to the house and shouted abuse when gardaí called to speak with him. At Letterkenny District Court, Judge Ciaran Liddy fined Friel €250 and gave him six months to pay, as reported in April 2025.
