On 19 March 2025, Gardaí from the Dublin Metropolitan Region South Central Drugs Unit stopped and searched a vehicle on York Street, Dublin 2, and seized over €87,000 of suspected cocaine concealed in packets of Mentos, Silvermints, and a tub of creatine, along with drugs paraphernalia. Two men were arrested: Nicholas Plenty, a 49-year-old man from London, and Sean McMullen Petherbridge, a 26-year-old man of no fixed address. Both were charged with unlawful possession of cocaine for sale or supply. They appeared at Dublin District Court on 20 March 2025, made no reply to the charges, and were remanded in custody by Judge Michèle Finan to appear at Cloverhill District Court on 27 March 2025.
