Sean Forker, 54, of Saltpans, Dungloe, County Donegal, admitted that on September 2, 2022, he dishonestly induced Aviva Insurance to issue a second motor policy by using a no claims bonus certificate after saying his first vehicle had been sold, which it had not. Gardaí were notified and he attended for interview. At the March 2026 sitting of Dungloe District Court he pleaded guilty to an offence contrary to Section 6 of the Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud Offences) Act 2001, and Judge Emile Daly imposed a €750 fine to be paid within six months, as reported on March 16, 2026. The defence said he had obtained the cover to help a cousin coming from the US for a wedding.
