Four individuals, including two 17-year-old boys, Sean Doran, 26, and Gregory Dunne, 60, entered the home of a couple in their 60s in Shanganagh Cliffs, Shankill, Dublin, at approximately 7.30pm on 11 June 2025, assaulted and threatened them with a 9mm Skorpion machine pistol, and demanded money. The 60-year-old homeowner was taken to St. Vincent's University Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, including lacerations to his face and head. All four were arrested and charged with aggravated burglary and unlawful possession of a machine pistol. A 17-year-old pleaded guilty to extortion, aggravated burglary and unlawful possession of a machine pistol at the Dublin Children's Court and was sent to the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court for sentencing in February. A warrant remains out for the co-defendant teenager, and the two adults face connected charges.
