Tens of thousands of euro worth of jewellery, prototypes, finished and partly made pieces were stolen from the Pearse Street workshop of 61-year-old silversmith Séamus Gill in Dublin city centre in the early hours of Easter Monday, 21 April 2025. Gardaí responded shortly after 3am and carried out a full technical examination of the premises. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing. Gill, who has worked from the workshop for 30 years and whose work is displayed in the National Museum of Ireland, learned of the break-in from a phone call at about 6am and has appealed to anyone with information to contact Gardaí.
