    Sapphire Buggy, a 23-year-old woman of Newbridge, Co Kildare, is charged with money laundering at Portlaoise District Court, Co Laois. The charge covers €7,980 laundered in Portlaoise on 13 March 2022 and €7,500 laundered at the same bank branch on 18 March 2020. At a hearing reported on 25 April 2023, her solicitor, Josephine Fitzpatrick, said she had appeared before the court previously, had engaged with probation services and had a very positive report showing she was at low risk of offending. Judge Andrew Cody adjourned the case until 14 December, to allow the accused time to take steps to persuade him to strike out the charges.
