Samir Lakhlef, a 53-year-old Irish taxi driver of Ballyogan Drive, Carrickmines, Dublin 18, pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a woman in her 20s in his taxi in Dublin in February 2022. Gardaí were called around 1.45am on 13 February 2022 after she had been drinking, CCTV identified his silver Toyota Prius, and forensic analysis found his DNA on her tights and underwear. In May 2023 he denied wrongdoing when he met gardaí but acknowledged the car was his and that he was its sole driver. In April 2025, Judge Martin Nolan at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court imposed a three-year prison sentence, the latest development in the case.
