Sam Walker, a 41-year-old British man, was stopped by Garda Detective Paul Cummins at Aston Quay in Dublin city centre, and was arrested for motoring offences on 21 September 2024 and granted bail. He was charged with driving offences, including driving without insurance and possessing fake Irish and British driving licences, and pleaded guilty to four motoring offences at Dublin District Court. During the proceedings a garda saw him livestreaming on TikTok, his phone was seized, and Judge Gerard Jones held him in contempt of court. On 26 September 2024 the judge imposed a two-year driving ban, fines totalling €500, and a one-month jail term that was suspended on condition he does not reoffend within two years.
