Sam Okwuoha, a 28-year-old Nigerian man, was charged with obstructing his deportation at Dublin Airport on 6 March 2026, after a deportation order signed on 6 January 2026. He denies the charge, claims he was mistaken for one of his brothers, was refused bail on 10 March and has been held in custody since. He pleaded not guilty at Cloverhill District Court, a psychiatric report on his fitness to plead was ordered in June, and on 29 July 2026 the prosecution withdrew the case before a pre-trial hearing at Dublin District Court.
