    Sabin Slavu, a 21-year-old man listed with an address in Tralee, Co Kerry, is accused of two counts of smishing, a fraudulent practice of sending texts that pose as reputable companies to obtain personal information. The alleged offences took place on 2 February 2021, once in Newbridge and once in Dublin, and allegedly gained €8,300, most of which gardaí said was recovered. He met gardaí by appointment and appeared before Naas District Court on Thursday 12 October 2023. Judge Desmond Zaidan set bail at €1,000 and adjourned the case to 10 October to allow time for a book of evidence.
