  Ryan Wallart, a 26-year-old unemployed man with an address above Rhythm n Booze in Portarlington, Co Laois, was charged with possession of cannabis on three occasions. On one occasion at his address on February 11 last, he was found with €280 in a bedside locker, which he said was for his own use, and on two other occasions he was found with cannabis worth €20 and €100. He was first caught by undercover detectives, and Garda sergeant JJ Kirby outlined the facts at Portlaoise District Court, where the defence said he had no previous convictions and was now using about 25% of what he used at the height of his drug use. The judge told him he needed to engage with probation services and warned that a repeat offence would cause difficulty for the court. The case was adjourned to February 15, 2024 for a probation report, as reported on 7 November 2023.
