A civilian call taker for An Garda Síochána, woman Lauryn McCann, 25, sent around 70 photos of PULSE system information via WhatsApp and Snapchat to man Ryan Fitzpatrick, 27, over a seven-day period in May 2020 in exchange for money. McCann pleaded guilty to corruption and was sentenced to two and a half years at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court in November 2022. Fitzpatrick pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice and corruption in March 2024, was sentenced to four years with three months suspended in April 2024, fled to Spain, and was extradited back. The Court of Appeal dismissed his appeal against the sentence in February 2025.
