Russell Forde, a 39-year-old man from the Cranmore area of Sligo, was punched in the face by a woman after a row at Rockwood Parade, Sligo, on Tuesday 19 April 2022. He fell three times and hit his head on railings, sustaining a serious head injury. He was treated at the scene, taken to Sligo University Hospital, and transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, where he died in the early hours of Thursday 21 April. Gardaí are treating the death as suspicious, a post-mortem examination is to be carried out, and no arrests have been made. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and camera or dash cam footage from the area between 5pm and 6.15pm on the night of the incident.
