    Ross Lappin, a 29-year-old man of no fixed abode, was held in custody at Drogheda Garda Station in Louth. On 22 February 2020 he threw his excrement around the cell, and on two occasions he masturbated in front of a female garda while she was carrying out a check on him. He was charged with causing criminal damage and two counts of engaging in offensive conduct of a sexual nature. At Dundalk District Court, Judge Eirinn McKiernan sentenced him to four months, backdated to 7 August 2021. The defendant had 12 previous convictions, mostly for public order matters.
