Michael Murray, a plumber raised in the Bohermeen area, and Rose Murray, a nurse originally from Co Kilkenny, built a 588 sq m house at Faughan Hill, Bohermeen, Co Meath without planning permission after the council refused their application in June 2006. Meath County Council brought contempt proceedings in March 2026 alleging the couple breached their 2020 undertakings to deliver vacant possession by September 2022, and the council, assisted by gardaí, took possession of the property on 16 March 2026, after which the house was demolished. The couple appeared at the High Court in Dublin on 23 March 2026, where Judge Richard Humphreys discharged the contempt charge on condition they abide by their sworn undertakings, with costs and the motion to return to court on 20 April.
