    On 1 July 2025 in Longford Town, Gardaí found a father and son in a physical altercation and separated them, as both men remained abusive towards each other while highly intoxicated. Both men were arrested after resisting because of their intoxication. Ronan Creighton (33) pleaded guilty to two public order breaches at Longford District Court, where Judge Bernadette Owens directed him to pay €300 to Longford Women's Link and said both charges would be struck out if the payment was made. Reports published between 25 and 29 July 2025 say he came to court with €300 for the court poor box and that the judge told him he had used up all of his opportunity. The latest development is the judge's direction that he make the €300 payment to Longford Women's Link.
