• Man fined €200 for theft from Letterkenny shops Theft · Co. Donegal

Robert Polacek, a 32-year-old man, was charged with stealing food worth €43.30 from Dunnes Stores in Letterkenny, Co Donegal, dated 19 June 2023, and two inflatable beds worth €200 from Jysk in Letterkenny, dated 22 August 2024. He was assisted by an interpreter, pleaded guilty at Letterkenny District Court, and was convicted and fined €200 with six months to pay. A court report published 6 November 2024 says the judge warned that a custodial sentence would be likely if he appears again on similar charges, while the case summary says alternative sentencing options would be considered in that event.
