  Robert Maguire, a 44-year-old man from Dundalk, was sentenced at Dundalk Circuit Court in May 2023 for a burglary at the Atami Japanese restaurant on Park Street, Dundalk, on 13 November 2020. He entered the staff area via a fire exit and took wallets containing Garda National Immigration Bureau ID cards, bank cards, cash and a mobile phone belonging to restaurant staff. He had pleaded guilty at Dundalk Circuit Court in October 2021 to entering the premises as a trespasser with intent to commit theft. Judge Dara Hayes jailed him for 18 months, with a two and a half year sentence backdated to January 21st and the final 12 months suspended on a one-year good behaviour bond.
