The offences were alleged to have taken place between March 2018 and April 2019, involving a male victim aged 15 to 17, and included meeting the victim on one occasion to have sexual intercourse and giving or promising to give money for clothing or sport items. At Naas Circuit Court on 20 October 2022, Judge Gerard Griffin sentenced Kennedy to concurrent five-year sentences with the final two years suspended, resulting in three years in prison.
