On Thursday 13 April 2023 on the north side of Dublin, a man was allegedly stabbed in the face and body and a woman was allegedly threatened at knifepoint. Gardaí say the stabbed man is the partner's father of Robert Griffin, a 37-year-old man, and the incident also involved four allegedly slashed car tyres and an alleged demand for €200. Griffin was arrested and charged with six offences, including assault causing harm, robbery, blackmail, criminal damage and possessing knives.
