On 4 February 2025, Gardaí from the Dublin Crime Response Team raided Laois Motor Works in Mountmellick, Co Laois, seizing 182kg of cocaine and 4kg of cannabis, with a further 17kg of cocaine and €25,000 in cash found in a follow-up search in Rathcoole, west Dublin, bringing the total value to over €14 million. Polish men Robert Wojtanowicz, 46, and Robert Cup, 46, were arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and cannabis for sale or supply, with Cup also facing a money laundering charge. Both pleaded guilty at Portlaoise Circuit Court in February 2026 after being served with additional evidence. On 19 May 2026, Judge Keenan Johnson at Mullingar Circuit Court sentenced each man to 12 years and six months, with the final 18 months suspended for five years.
