  On 1 June 2026, Robert Culleton became aggressive while gardaí were dealing with him about a separate matter at Kilkenny Garda Station, threatening that he knew where their families lived, had a bucket of sulphuric acid, and would cut a garda's neck. He is charged with obstructing a peace officer and two counts of making threats to kill or cause serious harm. At Kilkenny District Court on 15 October 2026, Sergeant Brigid Goode gave evidence of the threats. Judge Geraldine Carthy refused jurisdiction over the threat charges and adjourned the matter to a November sitting for DPP directions.

  On 4 November 2025 at about 8.30am, a man was threatened at the home of Robert Culleton in Kilkenny, where Culleton was reportedly seen holding a hatchet and shouting "I'm going to get you". A man walking his dog complained to gardaí on 6 November 2025, and gardaí searched Culleton's home on 16 December 2025 and found a hatchet. Culleton pleaded guilty at Kilkenny District Court to producing an article capable of causing injury in the course of a dispute and to threatening to kill or cause serious harm, and Judge Patricia Cronin convicted him. He was sentenced to ten months' imprisonment, with the final six months suspended for two years on condition of no contact with the injured party, as reported on 30 July 2026.
