Richard Maybury, 55, of Mountrath, Laois, was charged with intoxication after falling on a roundabout on 3 April 2019. Gardaí on patrol at 8pm found him on a footpath; he suffered a head injury and concussion and was taken to Portlaoise hospital. He told Portlaoise district court he did not remember the incident and was on medication at the time. Judge Staines fined him €40 and told him to stay off drink.
