  Two men were charged with offences including blackmail or extortion and aggravated burglary following an alleged incident at a home in Rosbercon, Co Kilkenny, on 3 April 2025. Gary Malone, of New Ross, and Rhys Mahon, of Clondalkin, Dublin, appeared at Kilkenny District Court on 21 July 2025, where a garda put a new charge of aggravated burglary to both men. The DPP consented to the case going forward to Kilkenny Circuit Court for trial on indictment, and both men were remanded on bail with conditions including no contact with the alleged victim and staying away from each other.
