Raymond Fouracre, a 41-year-old man from Bawn, Moydow, was stopped at a checkpoint in Kenagh, Co Longford on 12 September 2021 while driving an Opel Insignia. He was disqualified from driving, had no insurance or licence, and gave a false name to Garda Aiden Lenehan. He was charged with driving without insurance, driving without a licence, and giving a false name to gardaí under Section 107. Judge John Brennan sentenced him to five months' imprisonment for driving without insurance with a five-year disqualification, a two-month consecutive sentence for driving without a licence, and a 30-year driving ban. Fouracre opted to appeal the sentence before the end of the court sitting.
