• Man sentenced for assault on sister in Convoy, Donegal Assault · Co. Donegal

Raymond Duffy, 44, pleaded guilty to assaulting his sister Sharleen Duffy at the family home at Knockagarron, Convoy, Donegal, on April 10, 2021. The incident began after a row over the family pet dog urinating in his bedroom, during which Duffy pulled his sister's hair and said he would break her jaw. The case was heard at Letterkenny Circuit Court in February 2026, where Duffy represented himself. The judge deferred penalty under Section 100, with a €1,000 fine to be imposed if Duffy failed to comply with conditions, including making donations to Alzheimers Ireland and the Little Blue Heroes Foundation.
