A 37-year-old Polish man, identified as Rafal Jaycna, was found dead at a residence on Meadow Way, Castlecomer Road, Kilkenny City, on 27 February 2023 after being allegedly stabbed multiple times in the leg. A 69-year-old man, also believed to be from Poland and related to the victim, was arrested on suspicion of murder and held at Kilkenny Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984. The victim bled to death and was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 6pm. The suspect was charged with murder and is set to appear before Carlow District Court on 1 March 2023.
