Two women, Pauline Dempsey and Rachel Robertson, 31, allegedly forcibly entered the home of an 86-year-old man in the Canal View area of Longford on 28 May 2021, pushed him to the ground, and stole €130 and a Huawei phone. Both were remanded on bail in 2021, and Robertson later pleaded guilty to the robbery charge. After failing to appear in court in July 2023 and a bench warrant being issued in November, Robertson was sentenced to three years in prison with credit for time served at Longford Circuit Court in February 2024.
