Jordan Davis, 22, was shot dead in an execution-style shooting on a laneway in Darndale, Dublin, on 22 May 2019 when Wayne Cooney cycled up behind him as he pushed his four-month-old son in a pram and fired eight shots, three of which struck him. Cooney was convicted of the murder in 2022, and his then-partner Rachel Redmond, 35, was convicted by a jury in March 2025 on two counts of impeding his apprehension or prosecution after evidence showed she collected him from a bus stop minutes after the shooting and paid for his hotel room. Robert Redmond, Rachel's brother, pleaded guilty in April 2024 to conspiring with Cooney to murder Davis. In May 2025, Mr Justice Paul Burns sentenced Redmond to five years' imprisonment, with the final year suspended for three years.
