    A 19-year-old man, PJ Carolan, took responsibility for a canister of pepper spray and a quantity of cannabis found in a bedroom at his home in Cedarwood Park, Dundalk, on 26 August 2021. He was charged with unlawful possession of the drug and possession of a firearm. His case was adjourned at Dundalk District Court by Judge Eirinn McKiernan to May 2022 so his suitability for the drug treatment court can be assessed. The defence said he has been battling a cannabis addiction since his teenage years, and he was placed on a 12-month Probation bond.
