Cases
latest first- Appeal dismissed in Tallaght murder of homeless man Murder · Co. Dublin
Philip Dunbar, 17, was convicted of stabbing Adam 'Floater' Muldoon, 23, 183 times with a fold-up knife in an unprovoked attack at Butler Park, Tallaght, Dublin 24, on 22 or 23 June 2018. Muldoon was a homeless man with a disability. Dunbar was sentenced to life imprisonment at the Central Criminal Court. He appealed to the Court of Appeal, arguing diminished responsibility due to chronic drug use and that CCTV evidence breached his constitutional rights. In January 2024, the Court of Appeal dismissed the appeal, ruling the challenge to the admissibility of CCTV footage was misconceived.
