  Petre Beniamin (50), of No Fixed Abode, is accused of publishing a grossly offensive communication on TikTok about slicing up Irish babies, kids and you, with the offences said to have occurred at an unknown location in Dublin on 24 May 2025. He was arrested in Abbeyleix on 28 May 2025 and remanded in custody at a special sitting of Portlaoise District Court the following day, and he has been charged under the Harassment, Harmful Communications and Related Offences Act 2020 and the Criminal Justice (Hate Offences) Act 2024. He is representing himself, and in June he consented to remaining in custody with the case adjourned to 17 July 2025. The latest reported development is that in August he was again remanded in custody and the case was adjourned to 1 September 2025 pending DPP directions.
