• Man arrested on suspicion of DUI after toddler killed in Rathkeale Dangerous driving causing death · Co. Limerick

Two-year-old Peter Mulcaire, a boy from Rathkeale, was struck by a jeep while playing on a toy tractor near his home at Abbey Court on Saturday 5 September 2026 shortly after 3:50pm. The vehicle did not remain at the scene and the boy was taken to University Hospital Limerick by a family member or by paramedics via air ambulance, where he was pronounced dead.
