Peter Molloy, 22, was remanded in custody at Ennis District Court on January 27, 2022, after being charged with assault causing harm and producing an offensive weapon. He allegedly struck his first cousin, Eamon Quinn, with a long handle slash hook shortly after 2pm on January 23, 2022, at Simms Lane, Buttermarket, Ennis, causing lacerations to Quinn's left arm and right leg. The incident is part of an ongoing feud between the Molloy and Quinn families. Molloy went to Ennis Garda Station after the incident; Judge Larkin refused bail, citing prevention of further serious crime, and remanded him to appear via video link from prison on February 1, 2022.
