Peter Healy was found unconscious in the driver's seat of a car stopped in the middle of the R703 in Kilkenny at 12.20am on January 28, 2025, with the lights on and the engine running. Gardaí said he initially did not respond, then woke up and was clearly intoxicated. At Kilkenny Garda Station he first refused to give his name and address, then refused to give a sample. In June 2025, Judge Geraldine Carthy convicted him of drink driving at Kilkenny District Court, fined him €300 and disqualified him from driving for four years.
