    Peter Byrnes, 29, a man from Castleconnell, Limerick, pleaded guilty to possession of drugs for sale or supply at Limerick Circuit Court. On 5 August 2020, a package sent from Holland to his address in Scanlon Park was intercepted by Customs and Excise during a controlled delivery. The package contained 1.1kg of cannabis herb valued at €20,102, and over €34,000 of drugs was seized in total between the package and a car. Byrnes said he collected the package to pay off a drug debt and accepted full responsibility. Sentencing was adjourned to 17 April 2023.
