  On 19 February 2022, Gardaí executed a search warrant at Aquaristik4You, an aquarium and fishing tackle shop on Little Water Street, Longford town, seizing 18 large knives, 11 imitation firearms, a small hatchet, pepper spray, a baton and 6,300 illegal cigarettes. The shop was run by Polish husband and wife Pawel Bacianowski, 43, and Ursula Bacianowski, 44, who were charged with illegally selling firearms. No arrests were made at the time of the search, but the couple subsequently pleaded guilty at Longford Circuit Court to six charges under the Firearms Act. In November 2025, Mr Bacianowski was sentenced to 21 months and Mrs Bacianowski to 18 months, both suspended on conditions of good behaviour and not selling or supplying weapons.
