A man in his 30s was shot in the leg at a house in Oliver Plunkett Park, Dundalk, at approximately 4.30am on 1 July 2022 and taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda for treatment. Pauric Kelly, a 27-year-old man from Cedarwood Park, Cox's Demesne, Dundalk, was arrested in connection with the incident and charged with assaulting a man causing him harm and the reckless discharge of a firearm. He first appeared before a special sitting of Drogheda District Court on 3 July 2022 and was remanded in custody. Kelly was further remanded on 13 July 2022 and was refused bail at a vacation sitting of Dundalk District Court in August 2022.
