Paulius Saukscius, a 25-year-old construction worker, was arrested after gardaí alleged that cannabis was found in his car in Ashbourne, Co Meath, on Friday night, 4 October 2024. Gardaí also alleged that about €30,000 worth of suspected cannabis was seized at his home after his arrest. On Saturday 5 October 2024 he appeared before Judge Grainne Malone at Dublin District Court, where he was charged with possessing cannabis for sale or supply and has yet to indicate a plea. Bail was fixed at a €1,000 bond, and he was remanded in custody with consent to bail, due at Cloverhill District Court the following week.
